BIG APPETITE AT BAD EGG.

What came first - the chicken or the egg?

Well who cares, they are both equally delicious!

Located in the heart of the bustling city is BAD EGG - a funky, Chicago-inspired, all-day diner that has put a new, exciting spin on our favourite breakfast companion.
Following the 'Brinner' trend that has taken London by storm, chef Neil Rankin (Pitt Cue, John Salt, Smokehouse and many others) has once again created a foodie drool fest.

I was egg-cited (sorry couldn't help it) to check it out....

Unfortunately you can't book for lunch from Mon- Fri so we (me and my partner in foodie crime) had to wait.
I actually like having to wait for a table, it builds up the excitement AND you can have a cheeky drink before you sit down.

We were told by the smiley hostess that it would be a 5/10 min wait so she showed us to the bar.
I ordered my 'usual' Prosseco and Andy went for a glass of carrot, apple and ginger juice which was yummy.

After a short wait we were shown to our table.
I had a great view ;)

Similar to Smokehouse there was an open kitchen - nice to see where the magic is taking place.

THE MENU.

Decisions, decisions....

We wanted to try it all and ordered waaaaaaaay too much but, like I said, I was with my partner in foodie crime and we were STARVING.
The menu focuses around Burgers, Ribs, Baked Eggs, Hashes and Taco’s.
There are 4 different kinds of burgers.....we went for the Bad Egg Burger, be rude not to.
We also ordered -
Beef Shin & Korean Pork Tacos
Buffalo Belly Ribs
Ham & Eggs (keeping it traditional)
with sides -
Korean Slaw
 Fennel & Apple Vinegar Slaw
BOOM!

Wrap your lips around this ....

Phoarrrrrwwwww. What a burger.
All Bad Egg's burgers are made from 100% rare breed beef from Taste Tradition Farm in North Yorkshire.
I loved it when the gooey egg yolk melted down the side of the bun....ahhhhh true food porn. It was covered in a home made cheese fondue using Raclette and Red Leicester.
For some, this burger could be slightly sickly but I guess it all depends on what hits your spot.
I really enjoyed myself :)

The Pork Tacos were packed full of juicy flavour - incredibly filling as you get 3 of these bad boys.

The beef ones were my absolute favourite! Next time I go I will be ordering these for sure, I loved them.

We were not short of meat on this table, the Buffalo Rib was succulent and very messy, finger lickin gooooooooood.

The Smoked Ham Hock was amazing! It pulled apart beautifully and the scrambled eggs were really fluffy and creamy. I could have this for breakfast, lunch or dinner it was lovely, filling, but luuuuuurvely.

We were totally stuffed.
Classic case of - eyes bigger than your belly.
We did pretty well though!

The damage
(remember we were pigs and over ordered)

The service was brilliant, all the staff there are so friendly and full of character which is so important in a restaurant like this. People go to have fun, fun menu, fun atmosphere and fun experience. The food is of high quality and worth every penny.
